Inspector Lisa Rish Tips

Inspector Rish entered the Michigan State Police in January 1995 and began her career as a trooper at the Mt. Pleasant Post. She served at the Mt. Pleasant Post in a variety of roles including road trooper, recruiter, community services trooper, background investigator, and field training officer. In 2004, she was promoted to sergeant at the Michigan State Police Training Academy in Lansing where she taught trooper in-service schools. She became a use of force and firearms instructor, and taught firearms and report writing for trooper recruit schools. In 2010, she transferred to the Lansing Post as a desk sergeant. Later in 2010, Inspector Rish was promoted to lieutenant in the Professional Standards Section where she conducted work site inspections and conducted internal affairs investigations. In 2016, she took a lateral assignment as the assistant post commander for the Lansing Post and was promoted to F/Lieutenant in March 2018 where she proudly served as the post commander for the Lansing Post. In April 2019, Inspector Rish was promoted to her current position overseeing the Recruiting and Selection Section for MSP and is the department’s Equity and Inclusion Officer.
